The Ride of Silence cycling event is happening today, May 18th, to honor those who have been killed in bicycle or motorcycle accidents. Ride of Silence is a national event, which was first organized in 2003. The month of May is also National Bike Month, which was created to raise awareness of cyclists on roadways. The Seattle Ride of Silence will start at 6:30 pm at Gas Works Park at Lake Union and particpants are asked to ride no more than 12 mph and in silence. A route map can be found here. If you’re a cyclist, come down and participate in the free event to support a good cause. Please visit the official website for more information.
