Lake Union Events: Things to Do in September

Summer may be coming to a close, but there are still plenty of things to do in Lake Union coming up in September…

September 7: First Free Thursday at MOHAI
10am – 8pm | Museum of History and Industry
On the first Thursday of the month, September 7th, the Museum of History and Industry offers free general admission for the museum’s permanent exhibits – all day long! The free admission includes: True Northwest: the Seattle Journey, and the Bezos Center for Innovation.

September 8 & 9: Cider Summit
3pm – 8pm Saturday, 12pm – 5pm Saturday | SLU Discovery Center
The largest hard cider tasting festival in the Pacific Northwest is coming back September 8th and 9th! Cider Summit SEA features more than 150 artisanal hard ciders from around the globe. Tickets are $25-$45.

September 9: Pink Boat Regatta
12pm | Lake Union Park
Get your sailboats ready to race in the Pink Boat Regatta to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! On September 9th starting at noon, the Regatta event includes a 3-hour race followed by an awards party at MOHAI with live music, beer, wine, hors d’oeuvres and an awards ceremony.

September 9: Seattle Makers Market
11am – 5pm | 400 Fairview Avenue
Visit the ground floor of the Market Hall at 400 Fairview on Saturday, September 9th for the monthly Seattle Makers Market series! This free event features handmade goods from crafters, artists, makers and artisans in the Seattle area.

September 12: MOHAI Fashion Lecture – Style and Spectacle in Seattle
7pm – 9pm | MOHAI
Seattle has its own unique approach to fashion, which will be explored at MOHAI on September 12th with a special fashion lecture with the museum’s clothing and textiles specialist Clara Berg. The cost is $15 for the public and $10 for students and members.

September 20: Bourbon Heritage Dinner
6:30pm | Daniel’s Broiler Lake Union
Reserve your space for a wonderful evening featuring fine bourbon at Daniel’s Broiler this month! Look for a delicious pairing menu coming soon. The featured bourbons include Willet Distillery Noah’s Mill, Michter’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Russell’s Reserve 10 Year, Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection Cask and Booker’s Blue Knights Batch. The cost is $100/person and includes valet.  

September 22: Pinknic on the Patio
4pm – 7pm | Cuoco
Cuoco is hosting a patio party on Friday, September 22nd to feature the delicious pink wine of the summer: Rosé! The September Pinknic on the Patio Rosé Party will include snacks, summer music and plenty of rosé samples to enjoy. Wear pink and white! Tickets are $20 per person in advance, or $25 per person at the door and include five tastings and snacks.

September 30: Gin – Origins & Evolutions
1pm – 3pm | Serafina
Learn about the history of gin and try some unique uses of this spirit in a fun cocktail class entitled “Gin: Origins & Evolutions” at Serafina on September 30th. The restaurant’s chefs will create a food pairing to go with each cocktail. Tickets are $80/person and include the beverages and bites.
