Shake Shack is a much-loved burger and shake joint in New York City, and Seattleites are about to get their very first location in Washington State! Last week, the company announced that a Shake Shack will be opening in Seattle in mid-2018 at 2115 Westlake Avenue.
Get ready for some delicious burgers (made with 100% Angus beef) topped with the Shack’s proprietary ShackSauce, as well as hot dogs, frozen custard and crinkle-cut fries. Craft beers and wine will also be on the menu.
According to CEO Randy Garutti, who used to be a manager at Canlis, “It’s a dream come true to bring Shake Shack to Seattle! This city has held a special place in my heart since the early days of my career living here and working as the General Manager of Canlis”, he said. “I love coming back here and seeing the continued growth of the city and its dynamic food scene. We look forward to building a community gathering place for this great city.”
The “modern day roadside burger stand” (as the company refers to its restaurants) will be constructed using sustainable and recycled materials. For example, they plan to make the table tops out of reclaimed wood from bowling alley lanes.
Shake Shack was founded in 2004 in New York City by popular restaurateur Danny Meyer, with its first (food cart) location in Madison Park. They have since expanded in New York and beyond, with 136 locations in 12 countries. West Coast locations include Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix.
