Get Out & Boat Fest on Lake Union This Saturday!

Head to South Lake Union this Saturday, June 24th to enjoy free boat rides, hands-on clinics, seminars, kids activities and lots of boating-related fun for Get Out & Boat Fest! This event is great for anyone from seasoned boat owners to those who are simply looking for something fun and different to do.

Free boat rides are offered all day, lasting 45 minutes and leaving on the hour every hour between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be power boats under 30 feet, sailboats, cruisers and even fishing trawlers, so that you can pick the boat that fits your lifestyle and interest.

Activities and hands-on clinics will be offered with industry professionals to teach interested participants the basics of docking, anchoring, rigging, knot-tying, and technology. Get Out & Boat Fest also includes seminars on buying a boat, boating safety, chartering a boat and even salmon fishing.

Get Out & Boat Fest is fun for the whole family! Kids can play on a toy boat building from the Center for Wooden Boats and enjoy live music from Dave Calhoun, a Jimmy Buffet cover artist.

According to a press release, “The second annual Get Out & Boat Fest aims to increase public awareness of boating by offering opportunities for people to get out on the water, experience boating firsthand, and educate and inform non-boaters so they can learn all about the boating lifestyle.”
