March 1: First Free Thursday at MOHAI
10am – 8pm | Museum of History and Industry
On the first Thursday of the month, the Museum of History and Industry offers free general admission for the museum’s permanent exhibits – all day long! The Free First Thursday in March is the 1st. The free admission includes: True Northwest: the Seattle Journey, and the Bezos Center for Innovation.

Wednesdays in March: Pasta Classes at Cuoco with Chef Stan
6:30pm | Cuoco
Cuoco’s weekly pasta classes are back in January, featuring specific pasta-themed evenings where participants will learn to make different types of pasta with techniques and recipes. Finish the class off with a delicious 3-course family dinner. Classes cost $55/person and include the class, dinner, wine and a take-home portion of the pasta you make. The March Cuoco Pasta Classes are:

  • March 7: Cappelletti
  • March 21: Tagliarini Noodles

March 7: Renato Ratti Wine Dinner
6:30pm | Serafina Seattle
The celebrated founder of Barolo, Renato Ratti, innovated the world of wine and now his son Pietro has built on his father’s legacy over the past 30 years to continue to transform winemaking. Pietro will be visiting Serafina on March 7th for a special four-course wine dinner paired with the family’s exquisite wines. March 9: Spring Into Sours with Urban Family Brewery
5pm | Cuoco
Cuoco is hosting a special night featuring sour beers with the small craft brewery Urban Family Brewery. Learn about the beers and sample them on Friday, March 9th. Tickets are $25/person and include bites as well as four (4 oz.) beer samples.

March 13: Taco Tuesday with Chef Lexi Ochoa
6pm | Hot Stove Society
Chef Lexi is teaching a taco class based on Chef Alex Stupak’s book, Tacos for this event. Participants will learn how to make a delicious taco menu featuring the Yucatan style pork, cochinita pibil. Taste and enjoy the demo for $90/person.

March 20: PDX Dinner with Breakside Brewery
6pm | Brave Horse Tavern
Take a taste-trip to Portland with beers from Breakside Brewery on March 20th for a fun beer dinner featuring a five course, food-truck-themed menu at Brave Horse Tavern. Tickets are $50/person and include dinner and the beer pairings.

March 21: Capturing Bertha & The Biggest Tunnel in the World
6:30pm | Museum of History and Industry
Photographer Catherine Bassetti is visiting MOHAI on March 21st to showcase her photography and videos featuring the development of the SR 99 tunnel project and its boring machine known as Bertha. She and HistoryLink’s Jennifer Ott will discuss this and other projects Catherine has documented. This is a free event.

March 31: Maker Day – Pinhole Cameras
12pm – 3pm | Museum of History and Industry
Learn about the history of pinhole photography with Janet Neuhauser for MOHAI’s March Maker Day: Pinhole Cameras. You’ll also be able to build a camera to take home. Free for MOHAI members, included with museum admission.
